Coach’s code of conduct

Coach’s Code of Conduct

As a Marathon Kids coach, I pledge to:

PROMOTE: Create a positive and encouraging environment where physical activity is celebrated, and self-paced movement is encouraged. Physical activity should never be used as punishment or withheld due to behaviors that occurred elsewhere.

CONNECT: Establish meaningful connections with my runners, parents, fellow coaches/teachers, and community members to foster a supportive network.

SUCCEED: Encourage individual growth; inspiring each participant to achieve their personal best. Foster teamwork to collectively work towards our club’s mileage goal, promoting collaboration and support among all participants.

IMPLEMENT: Effectively utilize the tools, resources, and training provided by Marathon Kids to integrate the six pillars: Goal Setting, Tracking/Logging Miles, Modeling the Way, Social Support, Celebrating, and Rewarding.

SAFEGUARD: Ensure the health, safety, and emotional well-being of my runners, adhering to all required criminal background checks and securing necessary permissions from parents and/or school administration.

By signing this code of conduct, I release and agree to hold harmless from liability Marathon Kids Incorporated, its officers, employees, volunteers, or any other person or organization that has provided support to Marathon Kids. I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and will fulfill the promises made herein.
