Parents Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I ADD MY CHILD TO THEIR RUN CLUB IF I HAVEN’T RECEIVED AN INVITATION?
If you haven’t received an invitation to add your child to their run club, you will select on the homepage of your MKC Dashboard “Enroll Your Child” and will then follow the prompts to find your kid’s Coach and run club.
Once you select “Enroll Your Child” the following prompt box (pictured below) will appear. You will then fill out each box and when complete, click the Enroll button at the bottom. Your coach will be notified to approve the enrollment. Be sure to login into your account to watch your child’s miles add up, check out our resources to stay active, and submit mileage to your coach for at-home physical activity completed.
ONCE I HAVE ADDED MY CHILD TO THEIR COACH’S RUN CLUB, WHAT DO I DO NEXT?
Sit back and relax! You are done for now. Once your child’s Coach accepts your addition of your child to their class, you will then be notified via email that your request has been accepted. You can then login and see your child’s progress on your Parent Dashboard.
IF BOTH PARENTS WANT ACCESS TO THE STUDENT ACCOUNTS, IS THAT ALLOWED?
No, at this time only one parent can have access to the parent dashboard to follow the child’s progress. We are working towards the goal of allowing more than one parent to connect to the platform.
HOW DO I SUBMIT MILES AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY TO OUR COACH?
Miles can be entered manually by scrolling to the bottom of your dashboard and selecting the prompt box titled “Log Miles”. Select the date then enter the number of miles completed. Then select “send to coach for approval”. Remember for every five minutes of heart-pumping activity runners earn .25 of a mile. So run, walk, and play your way to a marathon!
DO YOU SHARE MY CHILD’S DATA WITH ANYONE BESIDES THEIR COACH, CLASS, AND PARENTS?
Your child’s data is kept confidential. Only those who are officially invited to help coach the club and are connected to the platform can view data. Marathon Kids does not share data with outside sources. Click here to read our complete student data policy.
DO PARENTS HAVE ACCESS TO THE ESTORE?
Yes! To access the eStore, click on the “Store” button on the left hand side of your dashboard. Browse our budget-friendly and premium rewards and other fun merchandise to celebrate your runner.
